As the evenings draw in it’s a good time for your customers to think about some winter housekeeping for the new stone floor you have installed for them. This time of year can play havoc with floors but some basic measures will keep them sparkling.

Prevention:

It’s obvious but dirt is best left at the door – keep outdoor shoes for outdoors
Make sure doormats are big enough for those wet shoes and muddy paws

Cleaning:

Little and often is best
Brush up grit and wipe wet feet marks quickly
Buy high quality floor cleaning products and have enough microfiber cloths for spillages
Invest in a new mop; you won’t get a clean floor washing it with a dirty mop

Protection:

Floors are less susceptible to in-ground dirt and stains if they have a good sealant
If floors are starting to look dirty and patchy in the high footfall areas, the sealant might be breaking down
